NEW EVIDENCE

Closing a gap to normal hearing

Outstanding new evidence from two independent studies shows how Oticon Opn empowers people to actively participate in the same noisy environments as people with normal hearing*, such as restaurants and similar environments that were previously too demanding.

This is thanks to the OpenSound Navigator technology, which helps people with hearing loss to interact with multiple speakers, while significantly reducing their listening effort.**

The effect and availability of features varies with hearing aid style and prescription.

THE NEW Oticon Opn IIC

Invisible in the ear for 8 out of 10

A hearing aid that no one will notice is a strong preference for many first-time hearing aid users, as well as more experienced clients who prefer more discreet hearing instruments.

By optimizing the shape of the faceplate and reducing the length and width – as well as the size of the technical components inside – we have succeeded in developing our smallest hearing aid ever. The result is that 8 out of 10 clients can now get an invisible hearing aid from Oticon.* And since it’s an Oticon Opn, they get the groundbreaking open sound experience built in.

    Invisible-In-the-Canal (IIC)

The smallest hearing aid we have developed to date, Oticon Opn IICs are our most discreet style. An expanded fitting range covers hearing loss from mild to moderately severe.

These ‘invisible’ hearing aids sit far enough in the ear canal that people normally don’t see them. A thin plastic pin remains accessible, which your clients use to pull the hearing aids out again. Not all people have ear canals that are suitable for IIC hearing aids, however, the Oticon Opn IIC is our smallest hearing aid ever, enabling it to fit 8 out of 10 clients*. These hearing aids automatically adjust to different sound environment like all Opn styles do.

The Oticon Opn IIC uses size 10 batteries.

Invisible-In-the-Canal (IIC) hearing aids are suitable for people who have mild to moderately severe hearing loss.

    Completely-In-the-Canal (CIC)

Very discreet hearing aids that sit completely inside the ear canal and are difficult to see – though not entirely hidden. They fit clients with hearing loss from mild to moderately severe.

These hearing aids are only slightly visible, and can be well hidden by selecting face-plate colours that match the client’s skin or hair tone. Completely-In-the-Canal (CIC) hearing aids give the option of a control button.

The Oticon Opn CIC uses size 10 batteries.

CIC hearing aids are suitable for people who want very discreet hearing aids. They fit people with mild to moderately severe hearing loss, and can feature an optional push button.

    In-The-Canal (ITC)

Our most discrete style with all feature options available including wireless connectivity. The Oticon Opn ITC can be tailored to individual needs and preferences for functionality and features.

These discreet hearing aids are slightly larger and more visible than Invisible-in-the-Canal (IIC) or Completely-In-the-Canal (CIC) hearing aids.

Because they are larger than the IIC or CIC styles, these In-the-Canal (ITC) hearing aids can accommodate larger, size 312 batteries and more technologies such as Bluetooth® low energy technology.

Bluetooth enables ITC hearing aids to connect to other devices including smartphones, TVs, computers, music players, and remote microphone accessories. Your clients can make hands-free calls using their hearing aids, and listen to stereo audio and music wirelessly.

Your clients can control the ITC style via an optional push button or an optional volume wheel, which makes them easier to operate.

ITC hearing aids are suitable for clients with hearing loss in the range from mild to severe, who prioritize more advanced features and connectivity.

    Half Shell (ITE HS)

These in-the-ear hearing instruments fill up more of the visible part of the ear and suit clients with dexterity needs. They are fully featured and offer wireless connectivity.

This type of hearing aid sits visibly in the cocha rather than just in the ear canal. Because they are larger than the other types of hearing aids that fit inside the ear, they offer both 312 size batteries and the option of longer-lasting size 13 batteries. ITE styles are easier to handle for people who face dexterity challenges, offering larger controls. They also offer additional security features including a canal lock and clothing loop.

Half-shell hearing aids are suitable for clients who have hearing loss from mild to severe, and prefer to have fully featured hearing devices that are easier to operate.

*ITE HS hearing aids are also known as low profile hearing aids.

  • custom-opn1-ite-fullshell

    Full Shell (ITE FS)

Optimal for clients with dexterity needs who prioritise an instrument that is easy to handle, control, and adjust. These cover hearing loss ranging from mild to severe.

This type of hearing aid fill out most of the cocha. They give the option of either 312 size batteries or longer-lasting size 13 batteries.

ITE styles are easier to handle for people who face dexterity challenges, offering larger controls such as a wheel to adjust the volume. They also offer additional security features including a canal lock and clothing loop.

Full-shell hearing aids are suitable for clients who have hearing loss from mild to severe, and prefer to have fully featured hearing devices that are easier to operate.

*ITE FS hearing aids are also known as low profile hearing aids
