Embedded C++ Developer (12-month maternity cover)

Help us develop the future solutions for hearing impaired people across the globe!
Do you enjoy technical challenges, and do you have experience with embedded software and object-oriented development? Are you curious and eager to learn? Do you want to join a friendly and skilled team and build the devices that support hearing aid users in their daily life? Then you should take a good look at this opportunity.

We are looking for an embedded developer for a 12-month maternity cover. In this job you will enter a large R&D organization with many embedded software teams, lots of career opportunities and a great atmosphere based on trust and flexibility.
Who are we?
We are a team of 10 embedded software developers all located in our office in Smørum. We develop the embedded software for Oticon’s accessory range – devices interfacing with the Oticon hearing instruments. We are responsible for the full software stack for the devices and tackle a wide range of embedded challenges from low level firmware and drivers to application code and UI as well as integration test systems and configuration SW in windows.  We are involved in the full development process from design to production, and we work closely with HW developers and other software teams in the company.

We are very focused on good software development practices and building maintainable solutions. This makes us an efficient team capable of supporting multiple devices and still delivering quality. Knowledge sharing and collaboration is high priority, and our aim is that all team members understand our designs and technical solutions. Our code not only does the job, but is reviewed, optimized, and automatically tested to run stably in our continuous integration pipeline. In this team you really have a chance to learn and grow your expertise and take ownership of the products you are making.

We believe in the good life
As a company, we trust and value your professionalism, experience, and dedication. Your new perspectives, insights and ideas are the cornerstones of our success, and we encourage you to be creative in your work. We give you a high level of freedom to structure your workflow.

We are a company that take pride in delivering solutions that allow people to live their lives to the max. We also recognize that to bring energy and inspiration to work, you need to re-energize and spend time with family, friends, and hobbies in a healthy work life balance.

Who are you?
First of all, you really like to develop embedded software and you have a good understanding of C++ through jobs or your studies. You take responsibility for the full stack of your work, including design, implementation, and automated testing. You have a large capacity for learning, and you enjoy digging deep and figuring out the solution to hard problems. But not alone - you like to work in a team and you are not afraid to reach out to your colleagues for input.

Your team works in the following areas, and you should have expertise in some of these (Don’t worry – we will help you learn the rest):

  • Embedded C++
  • ARM processors
  • Code reviews and knowledge sharing sessions with your colleagues
  • Unit test implementation.
  • Automated test implementation and investigations on test hardware.
  • SOLID development principles
  • Maintenance of build flows
  • Among other tools, we use git, VS Code, Visual Studio, GoogleTest, TeamCity, GCC, Docker, Meson, C#
