Hardware Electronics Developer - RF

Imagine a universe of all high-tech engineering competencies under one roof. Imagine more than 650 engineers working as a united force on a unique medical product. A product that changes people’s life to the better. Now, stop imagining and enter our world - the Oticon universe.

Become part of a great team!
We love highly complex tasks. We love to challenge the limits of what is possible. And we like being part of a complete product cycle. A product for mass production in a miniature scale. To perform best, we have the newest instruments and technologies at hand including our own tool shop and test facilities. We can get from an idea to a prototype in no time.

No matter if you are curious about artificial intelligence or want to interface with our production team – you will find an expert in-house to spar with. We work in a flat hierarchy and collaborate dynamically. We are always available for our peers and your voice will be heard for sure.

Designing world-leading electronics

All in all, we are about 50 engineers and technicians in our Electronics Group. Our main goal is to develop the electronics solutions for all Oticon’s hearing aids and accessories. We have a close collaboration with our Chipset Group, which develops the company’s proprietary ICs. Our team integrates the ICs onto very small PCBs. We use technologies like 2.4GHz Bluetooth Low Energy & NFMI antennas, acoustical & magnetic transducers, and rechargeable batteries to finally put the entire hearing instrument system together.

Joining us, you will be involved in all development steps from initial product specification to design and verification and in the end, handover for mass-production. Designing small size products with excellent performance is the key driver for our success and the limited space and high integration level makes this a very challenging task. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • To integrate IC’s and other key components onto PCB’s with size, tough requirements and RF performance in mind
  • To evaluate the performance of the system and be proactive in improving the system performance even more
  • To verify electrical performance against tough requirements, e.g. RF receiver sensitivity, signal integrity, wireless link quality etc. in relevant use cases
  • To document own work by means of e.g. design specifications, test specifications and measurement reports
  • To support the prototype builds including electrical test specification

Your qualifications
We expect you to hold an M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Electronics Engineering and that you have some years of experience within integration of Bluetooth radios or other RF technologies. You must be able to work within your own technical area and at the same time maintain an overview, enabling you to see the big picture. In order to succeed in the position, you shall be able to tick off most of below areas:

  • Well-founded general theoretical knowledge about microwave RF design.
  • Experience in designing systems that includes multiple devices and radios.
  • Experience in practical RF-lab work: E.g. using a network or spectrum analyzer, verifying specific radio performance parameters Rx/Tx. If you are familiar with Bluetooth and/or Bluetooth Low Energy, it will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge within regulatory requirements, preferably for medical equipment.
  • Knowledge within EMC design.

Furthermore, you are a team player and thrive in an international environment with a high pace where two days are rarely alike. You show a high level of personal drive to ensure your tasks are in progress and you take an analytical and systematical approach to complex problem solving. You know how to work according to established quality processes and have a good documentation practice, as we are a medical device regulated company.

So, come join our universe!
Feel the company’s energizing spirit the very moment you enter our world. Feel the trust and support we have in each other. Join a diverse engineering crowd with many different nationalities and backgrounds.
